The first Rebel Sport store was opened in Panmure, Auckland in 1996. The concept of a sports superstore where shoppers could choose from a huge range of the biggest and best brands in the world, and there are 33 stores nation wide. Rebel Sport has made a serious commitment to support Cure Kids financially, while also including the charity in many practical aspects of our business. Cure Kids is the face of the Child Health Research Foundation - an organisation established in 1975 to address the lack of research into serious childhood illnesses in New Zealand. Since then, Cure Kids has invested over $36 million in medical research. This research has helped save hundreds of young lives and has improved the quality of life for thousands of children. Today, we are more committed than ever to help find answers to the many serious illnesses and conditions that mean many Kiwi kids have to learn far too early in life how to fight to survive.
